Winter Wonderland Lingerie Party

Mother Nature devotes an entire season to indulging in pure white magic. That season however seems to have been lost in eternity. You don’t remember moving to the desert and yet, it sure feels like it!

Long before the sun starts frying up the ants in the driveway, you’ll probably be wiping off your melting makeup and wondering how you could have ever complained about that wondrous, glorious godsend called snow.

Well, its time to bring winter back into your life! Imagine conjuring up your own bit of icy snow in the midst of the sweltering heat. With the Winter Wonderland Lingerie party, you and your guests will be cooling off in style, nibbling on refreshing goodies and having some naughty fun while you’re at it. Sounds good? Let’s ice it up!

While creating invitations for your Winter Wonderland lingerie home party, capture the spirit of fun that lies in throwing a winter party in the summer. A simple yet classy detail is to mail your invitations with postage stamps featuring snow flakes (if in the U.S.A).
For the invitations, get blank white cards and decorate it with snowmen, igloos and blue snowflakes or reverse the color scheme.

One idea would be to sketch in the top half of the globe with the North Pole covered in ice and snow. Or just draw a snow covered landscape with a sign that says “North Pole”. Put in a picture of an igloo with a person or a snowman holding up a piece of lingerie. On the outside, write-

“Is this yours?”

On the inside,

“It isn’t? Well, come on over anyway! There’s plenty of fun, food and freezing to be had at my Winter Wonderland Lingerie Party! Its time to cool off!

So stop frying and start flying to (place)
at (date, time)

Another great way to get your guests’ attention is to send out invitations shaped as snowmen. You may be able to buy blank invitations in that shape, but it will be just as easy for you to make them yourself. Simply fold some white construction paper in half, cut out a snowman, and get ready to decorate. Draw on the eyes, a mouth, a few buttons, and a scarf. You could also place some sunglasses over the snowman’s eyes if you want to get the point across that this is one snowman who chills out in the summer.

As you may have noticed, the only thing that your snowman is missing is a carrot nose. Write one simple word on the outside of the invitations; “Oops!

On the inside of the invitation, reel in your potential guests by writing something like:

Poor Frosty. I just put him outside for a minute and the poor dear’s nose melted right off. If I want to get Frosty back to his snowy self again, I’m going to need your help. I’m going to need you to grab your coats, scarves, and earmuffs and come to my Winter Wonderland lingerie party!

On (date) at (time), come to (place) and help Frosty find his carrot. Even better, bring a carrot of your own and Frosty will give you a special prize!

Stay cool!

If the desire to cool off isn’t temptation enough, the promise of prizes might just do it! Now all you need to do is create your Winter Wonderland

Since you plan to transport your guests to a different place, figuratively speaking, this is a party where your decorations should begin right at the doorstep. Put up a sign on the door saying “North Pole”. Decorate the door by bunching up any sheer fabric and lightly sew on paper snowflakes and snow angels, along with a few leaves. You can make your own gorgeous winter sun catchers using just water and natural elements like fruits. Visit this cool craft page for instructions! For indoor use, make sure you place a plate underneath to collect dripping water.

Inside, white, blue and silver form the obvious backdrop with green and brown accents representing leaves and twigs. Use plenty of iridescent confetti and silver streamers. Arrange candles of different shapes and sizes throughout the area. Make cutouts of snow angels and decorate them. You can use things you have around the house, like crystal paperweights, snow globes and a few Christmas baubles that are either white or silver. Just make sure you don’t use too many elements that remind you of Christmas!

Decorating you Winter Wonderland Lingerie party just wouldn’t be complete without snow! You can get fake snow/Instant snow powder or snow spray cans. Get ice crystal sprays and fake icicles from a Christmas store or make some of your own! You can improvise with cotton puffs, Styrofoam balls and silver glitter. For winter elements like penguins and igloos, get small toys or check out how to make them in the Winter Landscape section below.
Tips: Put up signs here and there that say - “Danger-ice!”, “Let it snow!”, “Snow one sexier than you!” and “Snow much fun!” You could even put up a map of the North Pole, with a “You are here” arrow.

Decorate the dining table with a white tablecloth scattered with real leaves and twigs. For something more dramatic, use a green tablecloth with white accents. Place a simple centerpiece of floating candles in a glass bowl. Sprinkle silver glitter on the water. You could even freeze this overnight in a different container and transfer it to the glass bowl before the guests arrive!

Snowflake decorations - Snowflakes are the most popular winter decorations and there are many ways that you could go about making them-

  • Glue five toothpicks together in a star pattern. Attach pasta with glue and spray paint the whole thing silver. You could try more complex star burst patterns too.
  • Paper cutouts of snowflakes are easy and fun to make. Buy craft paper in the appropriate colors and use online images of snowflakes to guide you. There are a few craft sites that offer free snowflake templates.
  • Craft Foam in soft gray or white is an excellent material to use instead of paper.
  • Christmas snow flake ornaments are beautiful and easy to put up.

Find creative ways to decorate using the same element. With snowflakes, you can-

  • Put them up in random on the walls and tables.
  • Make one or two large snowflakes to put up on the door or to accent a particular area of the room.
  • String together paper or foam snowflakes and decorate windows and doorways, put them on ceiling fans or allow them to cascade off lamps.
  • Get a few white helium balloons so that they float near the ceiling. Tie a snowflake onto the tail end of each balloon for falling snow!

Lingerie - Since this is a lingerie party, dress up, or rather dress down a few of you snowman pictures with small paper G-strings. In fact, you can use lingerie shaped paper cutouts as extensively as you do snowflakes in the decor. Make fun fur bras by simply cutting out two oval pieces of synthetic white fur (craft shop item) and attaching them to a white string. Speaking of which, light-up snow flake bras, anyone?!

Winter landscape - If you feel like taking up a challenge, create a small winter landscape for your guests to ooh and aah over. Cover a table top with white cloth and make sure the edges are spill proof. Or create the whole thing on a large platter. This is a fun activity for the whole family. Or you could keep all the ingredients ready and let you guests try a hand at it. You’ll probably need a larger tabletop, but the result will be worth it! Pictures of the landscape created sent along with your thank you notes would truly be extra special.

If you have prominent windows in the party area, you can convert them into winter landscapes. It’s a wonderful way to keep the sun out and complete your icy illusion!

Tips: There are great craft ideas for this project at Disney Family. Check out how to make snowman out of soap, tea boxes and socks. You’ll also find ideas for making little sleds, penguins made out of bottles or pipe-cleaners and igloos You can even make skiers by attaching toothpicks to little toys’ hands and spoon snowshoes to their legs. Or do you fancy a completely edible skier? Buy small toys of people and seat them in a circle around tiny twigs with a little bit of orange paper in the center for fire. Silver foil can be used to make a small lake. Assemble all these elements on fake snow, add a few handmade trees or toys ones and step back to admire your very own masterpiece!

Winter Wonderland lingerie parties offer you a smorgasbord of foods to choose from. As a general rule, if you can eat it in the winter, you can serve it at your party!

Lingerie parties typically focus on a lot of finger foods for the main menu. For this kind of party, you can serve tortilla chips with a warm cheese dip, pigs in a blanket, slowly baked chicken wings, and any other hot or warm finger foods.

If you want to make something a bit more complex but you don’t want to devote too much time or energy to cooking, there are plenty of things that you can do. You can make a tummy warming hot apple pie, a crock pot of chowder, chocolate fondue with a fruit platter, or individual mugs of chicken noodle soup. Or try making a theme based Winter white salad or some filling spinach crepe rolls.

For a Winter Wonderland lingerie party make a delicious snack your guests will love to munch on - smores! All you need to make these treats are graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate bars

Since you probably don’t want to roast these over a fire outside, you can bake them in your oven. On a cookie sheet, lay out a graham cracker and top it off with a piece of chocolate, two marshmallows, another piece of chocolate, and another graham cracker. Make as many of these delectable sandwiches as you want and enjoy!

Luscious Desserts - Keep your desserts menu simple and fun. Whatever you choose to serve, try presenting it with white chocolate chips, snow flake edible sprinkles or decorate sugar cubes by drawing a simple flake pattern with light blue or gray frosting.

Make a few adorable snowmen or a cute moose! If you’d prefer to make one big snowman cake, here is the perfect recipe. Or make white no-bake cookies that look like snowballs.

By the time your Winter Wonderland Lingerie party is in full swing, your guests will definitely want to get their hands on a hot drink and warm up. I've included some suggestions below that might be helpful. Serve your drinks on a sled or toboggan if you have one. These drinks will warm up your guests from the cold air conditioner and make them feel like it truly is winter again. (Plus, it’s probably been a mighty long time since any of your guests have wanted a hot drink!)

Feel free to add a dash of liquor in your drinks if it’s appropriate. Here are a few suggestions for easy-to-make tasty drinks.

  • Regular/decaffeinated/flavored coffee, espresso or tea
  • Hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps
  • Hot Spiced cider

  • Coffee with Bailey’s Irish cream
  • Hot buttered rum
  • Red wine
  • Cappuccino with Kahlua
  • Mocha Dream (Mix half coffee, half hot chocolate, one shot of Kahlua and whipped cream

All of these drinks will be delicious and are bound to make your guests think of a colder time and place. Make sure to serve all of your drinks in winter themed mugs for an extra realistic touch! For more winter season drinks, visit this great site.

Party Favors

To continue your rampage of fun even after the party is over, consider handing out frosty favors - simply freeze gifts by placing them in plastic bags with water in the freezer overnight. You could assemble little things like scented candles or chocolates.

Another great idea is to create a life-size headless snowman and have each of your guests pose behind it as you snap away with a Polaroid camera. Slip the picture into a little white bag along with a thank you note.

You could also give each guest a small white satin pouch with a gift tag that says thank you! Include a small vanilla scented candle, some white chocolate truffles, and a small sample package of warming massage oil.

For a whimsical touch consider throwing in some real, dried and pressed leaves or making paper cutouts of snow flakes. Spray paint them silver and put each one in a simple frame or paste it onto a card, punch two holes and thread a ribbon through to hang up on the wall. Be sure to add a quote or poetic caption that truly captures the beauty of winter. For example-

"How full of creative genius is the air in which these are generated!
I should hardly admire it more if real stars fell and lodged on my coat. Nature is full of genius, full of the divinity, so that not a snowflake escapes its fashioning hand."
-Henry David Thoreau.

“I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow…”
-Mary Frye

“Out of the bosom of the Air,
Out of the cloud-folds of her garment shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare,
Over the harvest-field forsaken,
Silent, and soft, and slow
Descends the snow.”

The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.”
-Robert frost
